Established in January 2012, Research Base for China IoT Development Strategy (hereinafter referred to as the Base) is one of the first 15 humanities and social sciences research bases outside colleges and universities set up by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. Professor Wang Yuhong, a member of the Young and Middle-aged Academic Leadership Program of Jiangsu Province, leads the Base. The Base has a well-structured research team consisting of six senior engineers, eight associate professors, who all hold doctorates. The Base is undertaking six national research projects and twenty-five provincial and ministerial research projects at present.

Supported by Jiangnan University and Jiangsu R&D Center for Internet of Things, the Base focuses on the research of tools and theoretical crossover of disciplines between Applied Economics, Business Administration, Management Science and Engineering and Information Science based on actual situations of Jiangsu province and the whole country. According to the law of IoT technology evolution, the Base studies series of problems that need to be solved urgently in Jiangsu IoT industry, such as IoT development model and path, IoT industrial development strategy and support systems for the industry, so as to provide decision-making and policy supports. The Base mainly focuses on four research directions: "International Comparison of IoT Development"; "Strategy Design and Model Selection for Jiangsu IoT Development"; "IoT Industrial Development Strategy and Model", and "Support System and Solutions for IoT Industrial Development".Some 50 papers are published in first-rate domestic and international periodicals includingExpert Systems with Applications（SSCI,SCI）, Journal of Knowledge Management（SSCI）, Group Decision and Negotiation（SSCI）, Computational Economics（SSCI）,Economic Computation and Economic Cybernetics Studies and Research（SSCI）, Journal of clean production（SCI）, Applied soft computing（SCI）,The Journal of Grey Systems（SCI）,Expert Systems（SCI）, kebernetes（SCI）, System Engineering Theory and Practice, Chinese Journal of Management, Chinese Journal of Management Science, Journal of Systems & Management, Journal of Industrial, Engineering and Engineering Management, R & D Management and Science of Science and Management of S.&.T.Some advisory reports received instructions by leaders of Jiangsu Provincial Government and some have been realized in initial practice.

Among the total ten team members, there is one professor, nine associate professors and more than 70% of them have studied abroad. One member is listed in the Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Leadership Talents and the Six High-level Talents of Jiangsu Province and three are titled Honor Scholars of Jiangnan University.
